I have always loved and I still love, everything that has to do with astronomy. I think it is so interesting and fascinating to read all about it and to actually see many of the things with my own eyes. This year has been great for me when it comes to seeing amazing things happen in the sky.
Tonight or early tomorrow morning depending where you live, the moon will appear 14% bigger than usual (called supermoon) this same night/morning you will be able to see a total lunar eclipse (even known as blood moon) because the earth, the moon and the sun will all be in a perfect line creating this awesome phenomenon.
So for those of you who lives in USA you will be able to see it tonight. (just look up the time for your state) For us who lives in Sweden we need to wait until early tomorrow morning.
If you want to go out and watch, this is the times in Sweden:
02:10 a.m - The lunar eclipse begins. Moon is closest to the earth.
03:07 a.m - The partial eclipse begins.
04:11 a.m - Total eclipse begins. The moon should be completely red.
04:47 a.m - Maximum eclipse.
05:23 a.m - total eclipse ends.
06:27 a.m - The partial lunar eclipse ends.
I have waited a long time to see this spectacular celestial event and I'm totally ready to stay up all night and then go out and enjoy the amazing view and also take a lot of pictures!
Any of you readers who are going out to watch it? What do you think about all this? Let me know what you think!
